Una giornata indimenticabile

We finally got some snow, a lot of snow actually. Because of the winter we have done many strange things.
The lakes are covered with ice and mummy takes us out for walks on the ice. Jói and I tend to run on the ice, it is great fun. You don’t have to look out for threes or anything else. You can just run for miles.
Another strange thing mummy does in winter time is that she wears snowshoes.
When mummy takes the snowshoes out it means we will go walking in deep snow.
Normally we take walks in the forest and walk on paths. Running and playing in deep snow is great fun.
Ronja is so old that she is totally exhausted after the walk but Jói and I we just love it.
A few weeks ago I, Jói mummy and daddy went to a Bernese mountaindog meeting.
There were at least 15 Berneses. We made a walk in the forest and all dogs got to play together.
Once again I had a great time. One thing is strange though.
My mummy’s belly is growing even faster than I grow.
She walks like an old lady and I have to tell her to hurry up.
Mummy said that we won’t be attending any Bernese meetings in a long time because she can’t keep up the speed anymore.
She promised we would go swimming with the other Berneses in summer.
It is still a long time to summer.
Mummy and daddy told me I would get a new room mate in April or May.
This mate will have two arms, two legs but no tail or coat. I do wonder where on earth you can find that kind of puppies.
On top of it all mummy says this new mate is growing inside her belly. That’s even more confusing.
Now when we got snow it is not so dark anymore. Mummy was right, the sun has come back.
The days are getting longer again. Still I am sure the darkness took my coat.
My entire baby coat is gone and grandfather says I look like a borzoi.
Mummy says I look just fine in my teenage coat. She is so proud of my pretty head and cute expression. I am proud of being nearly as high as Jói. Now nobody can say I’m a little boy.
Except mummy and daddy, they still call me a puppy. How embarrassing!!!
